The Patch Editor
The patch editor serves the purpose to import, create and/or edit patches (programs). The Fantom® uses four so called Tone Layer inside of its patches where samples and multisamples can be assigned to.

The Patch Import Wizard
Can you imagine to import a complete patch from several external data sources (AKAI®, Roland®) with tone layer parameter, sample mappings (multisamples) ans sample files within seconds?
Please have a look at the import wizard of Fantom YASE™:

After clicking the "SAVE" button a wizard appears where you simply drag the patch (1), after clicking forward (2) the multisamples and the samples to the desired position. Very quick, isn't it?
The Multisample Editor
A multisample is a mapping of several samples - or let's say - an assignment of samples for the whole key range of the Fantom®. It's main purpose is to collect samples with the same parameters (velocity range, filters, tunings, ...). The parameter you set once for each multisample - at the tone layer stage. This means - one multisample (or two - for the left and right channel) for one tone layer.
Fantom YASE™ automatically creates sample mappings while importing a patch. But sometimes it is necessary to create and/or edit multisamples manually.

You can create key ranges via double click (3), assign samples to them via drag&drop into the key range table (4) or the table of not assigned keys (5). And you can easily change the ranges themselves - by dragging a side in the graphical editor.
The Patch Export and Import (Generic Format)
Patches (Programs) and/or Multisamples can be exported to files in the generic Fantom YASE™ file format. They contain the audio files as well as information about the assignment to the keys of the keyboard (sample mappings) and program parameter. An Export can be done for backup purposes as well as for a simple reorganization.
The exported files can be imported with the same wizard than external sound libraries (i.e. AKAI® S1000).
